Lasalle, Louisiana's Legal Lynching
Just as Black boys (and Black young men) were victims of blatant racism in the American legal system in the notorious Scottsboro Boys case of 1931 in the South, Black boys (and a Black young man) are victims of blatant racism in the America legal system in the notorious Jena 6 case of 2007 in the South.
| Scottboro Boys Case | Jena Six Case |
| The Black defendants in Alabama were youngsters ranging from age 12 to 20. | The Black defendants in Louisiana are youngsters ranging from age 16 (and younger) to 18. |

| Whites claimed to have been assaulted by Blacks. | A white claimed to have been assaulted by Blacks. |
| The Black defendants were jailed without bail. | The Black defendants were jailed (because they could not afford the unconstitutionally high bail). |
| The Black defendants were tried by an all white jury. | The first Black defendant was tried by an all white jury (in a case with all white witnesses, a white judge, and a white prosecutor). |
| The Black defendants' lawyer was totally inept, having prepared for trial a mere 25 minutes before the case began. | The Black defendant's lawyer was totally inept, having called no witnesses and having stated that the all white jury was fair and impartial. |
| The whites received no punishment but the Blacks were sentenced to death. | The whites — one of whom had a shotgun — received no or very little punishment, but the Blacks — who had no weapons — faced charges with sentences of up to 100 years. |
